I have my first bed completed! Today’s finishing touches included bamboo tomato stakes, a drip irrigation system and cedar mulch to top it all off. Hopefully the drip system will make watering when the heat of summer hits a little easier and much less wasteful!
The peas are poking through the soil in the last two days, as are the zucchini and I think one of my nasturtiums decided to pop up today too!
Oh, I almost forgot! I finally convinced The Chicken Whisperer not to pick the strawberries the minute they turn red, but rather be patient and let them fully ripen. The result was the most incredible tasting strawberry I have ever eaten!! There are many more that are nearly ripe.
